Born and raised in the Dominican Republic, Dr. Esmilkrys Ramirez, a board-certified obesity medicine specialist, earned her medical degree from Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra where she graduated at the top of her class.

Carlos Mella-Picel MD. | Internal Medicine & Geriatric

Born and raised in the Dominican Republic, graduated magna cum laude from the School of Medicine at Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña. Dr. Carlos Mella-Picel strongly believes in the benefits of annual wellness exams to keep patients feeling their best and stay ahead of any potential illness.

Megha Patel (PA-C) Lead Physician Assistant Certified

Passionate and professional NCCPA certified physician assistant with 5+ years of experience in internal medicine. Focused on patient centered care and preventative testing. Graduated from University of St Francis Physician Assistant program in 2018.

Kendra Manning (PA-C) Physician Assistant Certified

Kendra was born and raised in the Chicago area and graduated from Rosalind Franklin University in 2013 with her masters in Physician Assistant Studies. She has been with Health Direction Medical Center since 2015.

Diana Mahlis (PA-C) Physician Assistant Certified

Diana Mahlis is a NCCPA board-certified Physician Assistant dedicated to compassionate, patient-centered care. She graduated from Loyola University Chicago in 2020 and the Dominican University Physician Assistant Program in 2024. After graduation, Diana began her career in internal medicine at Health Direction Medical Center. She also has three years of hands-on experience as a medical assistant in family medicine. A fluent Russian speaker raised in the Chicagoland area.

Arturo Roosen (PA-C) Physician Assistant Certified

Arturo was born in Caracas, Venezuela and moved to Orlando, Florida when he was 14 years old. He graduated from Stetson University with a bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences where he played NCAA division 1 soccer, and then went to complete his master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies at Brenau University. Arturo is dedicated to building relationships with his patients and tackling problems in a team based approach where the goal is to achieve the patient’s optimal health.
