Diagnosing Asthma
A variety of tests can be run to test for asthma, including PFT (pulmonary function tests), the methacholine challenge, and inflammation assessment with nitric oxide. To prepare for your asthma testing, we recommend that you or your child:
- Dress in comfortable clothing
- Eat a light meal
- Avoid exercise or cardio-type activities beforehand
- Avoid smoking or drinking alcohol before your appointment
