How Do DoT and Immigration Exams Work?
While the criteria are different for DoT and Immigration exams, both will start out with your provider at Health Direction Medical Center. Some of the details of each exam include:
DoT: These health examinations are required for anyone driving and operating commercial vehicles. These exams include physical, mental, and emotional checkpoints and are required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). You must pass this physical before achieving and/or maintaining a valid commercial driver's license (CDL), and the exams must be done by certified medical examiners, like those at our Chicago, IL office.
Immigration: This exam includes a comprehensive medical history, drug and alcohol screening, physical and mental evaluation, as well as tests for various illnesses and diseases (or a history of said disease).
